Welcome to Churchland Preschool Center

Vision Statement

Churchland Preschool Center consists of a team of professional early childhood educators dedicated to developing minds, nurturing bodies, and encouraging dreams in our young children, so that they may become successful, lifelong learners and leaders.

We Believe ...

  • We believe that the early years of life are critical in cognitive, social and emotional development.
  • We believe in the importance of family and its impact on the development of young children.
  • We believe that families and schools must have high expectations of children and must support their efforts and celebrate their achievements.
  • We believe that we have a responsibility for the future success of our young children and that we have an opportunity to enhance their cognitive abilities, physical well being and social adjustment which will ultimately affect their future successes.

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

"Churchland Preschool Center is committed to providing a safe and positive learning environment for each child to successfully reach their fullest potential. Parental and community involvement are highly encouraged to ensure that each student's physical, emotional, cognitive, creative and social developmental skills are developed in preparation to enter into Kindergarten."

Administrator’s Philosophy

In Guiding Student Behavior

Student behavior is a school-wide, home and community initiative that focuses on the importance of relational discipline. These policies and practices set the tone for a strong support system. All relationships that make a child want to learn are fostered through positive discipline and our interactions. It is my belief that teacher-student relationships are an integral part of an effective classroom management system. Clearly, parents, as the primary disciplinarian influence, are predictors of a child’s appropriate or inappropriate behavior. Therefore, a collaborative discipline model which promotes on going parent-teacher communication, builds positive attitudes, facilitates learning, and minimizes disruptions is most successful.
